Former Hawaii football star wide receiver Ryan Grice-Mullen will play in the Canadian Football League (CFL) instead of the NFL this year. Grice-Mullen was initially signed by the Houston Texans and then the Chicago Bears, but was cut before his NFL career could get going. Grice-Mullen. Most recently, he was signed by the BC Lions football team to participate in their practice squad.
For the first time in the history of Hawaii football the Warriors will play Weber State. Don’t be fooled by the small school. Weber State just destroyed Montana-Western 62-2 last week while Hawaii took a terrible beating by Florida 56-10. The Weber state players have nothing but respect for Hawaii.
“They never lose at home. They love playing in front of their friends and families,” said McBride, whose Utah teams twice got roughed up in Honolulu. “They’ll be extremely good and extremely tough. I know what to expect from them.”
Former University of Hawaii wide receiver Ryan Grice-Mullins signed a contract to play for the Chicago Bears. Grice-Mullins originally signed with the Houston Texans as an undrafted free agent but has since moved over to the Bears. He ran the 40 yard dash in an amazing 4.33, but did not get drafted in the 2008 NFL draft. This is some welcome news for Hawaii as earlier this week Jason Rivers was cut by the Titans.
The Tennessee Titans Cut form University of Hawaii wide receiver Jason Rivers this week. Rivers was a huge part of Hawaii’s offense in the past three years. Last year he has 92 receptions and 13 touchdowns helping Hawaii go undefeated during the regular season. He was the one bright spot against Georgia with 10 receptions and 105 yards.
This is not good for Rivers as the Titans have one of the worst receiving corps in the NFL. If he can’t make that team, then his NFL career is likely over.
