Shane Victorino Phillies

Shane Victorino has gone from a relative unknown to leading the Philadelphia Phillies past the Milwaukee Brewers in the division series and the LA Dodgers in the 2008 National League Championship Series (NLCS). Victorino is a native of Hawaii born in Wailuku, Maui. He was a Hawaii state high school track and field champ in 1999 and was drafted by the Dodgers that same year. Victorino now holds a MLB record after being the first person in post-season history to have a home run, a double, and two steals in a single game.

Former Hawaii football star wide receiver Ryan Grice-Mullen will play in the Canadian Football League (CFL) instead of the NFL this year. Grice-Mullen was initially signed by the Houston Texans and then the Chicago Bears, but was cut before his NFL career could get going. Grice-Mullen. Hawaii’s Bryan Clay Favored to Win Olympic Gold

Hawaii residents have lots of reasons to watch the 2008 Olympic Games this year. The biggest reason to watch will be to see former Castle High School athlete Bryan Clay compete in the decathlon. Clay is the favorite to win the gold medal as he won Silver in the 2004 Olympics. He will be competing in the 2008 Olympics held in China between 21-22 August.

Bryan Clay was born in Texas, but become a Hawaii resident when he was three. He graduated Castle High School in 1998 and has been striving for Olympic Gold ever since.
