Well, if you are living in Hawaii, then I guess it wouldn’t be hard for you to get off your buttes and be journalist and see if this is true or not. The only thing you have to do is go to The library in Honolulu probably holds old copies of the Hololulu Advertiser newspaper.

Someone who lives there could go in and peruse old 1961 copies for the few days following Obama’s supposed birth. They could look thru the births section. My guess is that no births were listedin the name of either “Obama” nor “Dunham”.

This is a very strange issue that I have become very interested in. I researched yesterday and found a website that posted a snapshot of his birth announcement. Also, the site claims that he ordered a short form copy of his birth certificate from Hawaii, presented it to Factcheck.org and they posted a photograph that you can zoom in on. Mr. Philip J. Berg, former Deputy Attorney General of Pennsylvania and high-ranking Democrat has sued Barack obama in Federal District Court up in PA for proof of his citizenship. So far, Obama’s legal team is engaging in procedural sneaky lawyer tricks to delay ruling on the suit. Mr. Berg’s stated intention was to prevent the Republicans from pulling an “October surprise.” I am sure most of you are already conversant in this, though. Finally, Hawaii apparently does not allow orders of birth certificates by just any “Joe citizen” I would assume to prevent identity theft. So, that’s my two cents for what it is worth.

I think there is way to much controversy over Barrack Obama. I am old fashioned enough to believe that where there is smoke there usually is a fire. At the very least, SOMEBODY THAT HAS THE AUTHORITY TO DO SO, needs to investigate this thoroughly. My guestion is why has this gone on as long as it has and nobody can come up with a document to prove or disapprove his legal status as a born in this country or its protectorates or not!!!!!!!!! This whole country, Democrate or Republican alike NEEDS to be concerned about this. Nobody in their right mind should want a foreigner born man running this country and having the power a president holds in his (or her) hands.

When asked by a plaintiff in US Federal court for proof of US citizenship, the Obama campaign had two choices: a) produce the documents or b) file a motion to block the request.

Why on earth would anyone go to so much trouble to avoid producing a couple of documents…if the documents actually existed?

I am a doctor. I had to produce undergraduate and medical school diplomas, state licensure, Board certification, fingerprinting, vaccine status, ongoing continous education, etc to obtain a job at a local hospital.

To become president you must be 35 years of age (i.e. show birth certificate), be a natural-born citizen (i.e. show birth certificate), and have a 14-year US residency (I’ll forgo the electric bills).

Essentially, to be president one document will suffice; no college needed. Just a birth certificate!

Could you apply for a job with providing credentials? Should a candidate for the most powerful office in the land be required to produce a document demonstrating qualification.

In the case of the presidency, it is not expertise, academic excellence, nor receipt of paid licensure; just a document that at age 0 days you were thrust out of the birth canal on American soil.

The argument against Obama’s eligibility relies on 3 points:

1. Due to Obama’s mother’s age, citizenship was not aquired at birth.

2. Obama was not born in the US.

3. If Obama was adopted by Lolo Soetoro he lost US citizenship.

The problem comes down to the validity of Obama’s parent’s marriage. When he was 18, Barack Obama Sr. Married a woman named Kezia who he had 4 children with. When he left Kenya for the United States he did not obtain a divorce. In the US polygamy is illegal. If a person is already married, regardless of where they got married, any subsequent marriage that takes place in the United States in invalid. This is the case with the marriage of Stanley Ann Dunham and Barack Obama Sr. in Hawaii, February 1961. Obama was born out of wedlock. As a child born out of wedlock a different law applies if he was born outside the United States. The law reads:

There is no doubt that Stanley Ann Dunham spent more than one continuous year inside the United States. Her citizenship was automatically transmitted to Obama Upon his birth through Jus Sanguinis. Some would argue that being born abroad prevents you from being a natural born citizen. But there are 2 precedent cases of Presidential candidates being born abroad. John McCain and George Romney. McCain supporters argue that he is a citizen because he was born on a US military base. This is a misconception, He is a citizen because his parents were citizens. Citizenship is not granted by being born on a military base. State Department policy reads:

“Despite widespread popular belief, U.S. military installations abroad and U.S. diplomatic or consular facilities are not part of the United States within the meaning of the 14th Amendment. A child born on the premises of such a facility is not subject to the jurisdiction of the United States and does not acquire U.S. citizenship by reason of birth.”

A similar situation occurred with Mitt Romney’s dead father. George Romney was born in Mexico in 1907. He did not move to the United States until his family fled from the Mexican revolution in 1910. Yet in 1968 George Romney ran for president. George Romney was eligible to run because he inherited his citizenship through Jus sanguinis.

The third point argues that Obama lost his US citizenship because he was adopted by Lolo Soetoro. Dual citizenship only became recognized in Indonesia in 2006. Before 2006 the Indonesia Nationality act of 1958 applied.

An alien wife of an Indonesian national is entitled to Indonesian
citizenship if she so wishes and makes a statement to that effect

If Lolo Soetoro adopted Obama he did not gain nationality because he was 6 years old.

A five year old child, who is adopted by foster parents of
Indonesian nationality, shall qualify for Indonesian nationality
if the foster parents apply to a court to legitimize the adoption
within one year and request is granted.

Obama would have had to meet all of the following conditions to obtain Indonesian nationality:

1. Have reached the age of 21 or over;
2. Were born in Indonesia or have lived in Indonesia continuously for 5 years, or interruptedly for 10 years;
3. Have a fair command of the Indonesian language and knowledge of Indonesian history, and have never been convicted by a court for a breach of law or for any act against Indonesia;
4. Have the consent of the wife/husband;
5. Are mentally and physically healthy;
6. Pay a fee of not less than Rp 500 and not more than Rp 10,000, which shall be decided by the court, taking into consideration the applicant’s income;
7. Have permanent employment;
8. Have no other nationality or have abandoned his/her nationality which is in conformity with an agreement on dual nationality reached between Indonesia and the foreign country.

Obama did not meet condition 1, 2, 6, 7, or 8 while living in Indonesia. Obama is absolutely a natural born citizen and eligible to seek the presidency.

This is a certified copy made in the modern day to replace a missing doc the inportant thing is the seal is missing it has not been verified. All Hawaiians became citizens at statehood. They needed their births certified and then verified. Only those born after had birth certificate from a hospital. If you were born at home you had to get a certification it then was verified and stamped with the state seal. I do not see the stamp on the one. The Native Hawaiian born in 1930 has her stamp.

Was not aware that Hawaii was a state in 1903. Can someone explain this?

Aside from word “laser” at the bottom right corner, as a graphic designer I noticed something else. The borders, unless Hawaii has them all that way, look like they’re cut and pasted manually. The horizontal border strips overlap the vertical ones. Unless they are, or were, printed that way, it looks like it was put together on a drafting table. I’m probably wrong, nobody would be that stupid.

One more thing, after looking at the childs name on the certificate. I received an email last summer, that stated he was born with the name Barry Dunham, and changed his name five or six more times, settling on Barack Hussein Obama. The email had a list of names, the fifth name on the list was the name change to Barry Obama, then another name, and then the one he has now. Whether or not the email is true or not, the way there’s so much “transparancy”, I guess we’ll never know.
